NOTE #1: This kit no longer ships with a CD-ROM. The software is on a download server here:

NOTE #2: Suzuki has rolled out an SDS-II protocol on many 2017-up models that is NOT COMPATIBLE with the OBD-S01 tool.

Awesome Tool.
After some struggles with the bike itself I finally got to use the Suzuki OBD tool. Set up was easy (once I figured out how to turn off my firewall to allow the download). The I used it to observe the bike warming up and watch the data I was impressed with the refresh rate. Very fast. I then used it for the dreaded throttle body sync. No issues there. It locked out the ISC and I was able to perform my adjustments. I wish I had more to do so I could use it a bit more. It is definitely worth the buy if you like to do your own work. I do want to add an additional note about the customer support for this product. When I was struggling to download the software I got email replies almost as soon as I sent in my questions. It is nice to see a company that backs up their product and offers that kind of service.

Healtech OBD Tool for Suzuki
Purchased this unit to do the Throttle Valve Sync (TVS) maintenance procedure on the DL650A VStrom 650. In addition to having the proper tool on hand to deal with FI (Fault Indicator) Codes, should they pop up. Very pleased to report the tool works great for connecting a laptop to the bike. The Software is stable and returns a wealth of information, as well as allowing for code reading, clearing, and manual testing of various components, also data logging and the ability to record baseline files for reference later - if the bike develops a problem. So far I've hooked it up to three DL650As and it has worked without issue on them all. For the TVS specifically, there is a step to lock the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve for the adjustment, but the Coolant temp must be high enough to allow the tool to take manual control. This is a little difficult to achieve as it seems as soon as the temp gets high enough, the cooling fans kick in and lowers the temp. The tool then kicks the IAC control off. I've done the TVS with and without the IAC locked and it really doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I mean the sync needs to be good with the bike in normal mode anyway. I'm not sure if the temp threshold is in the bike ECU or the Healtech Software, but I suspect it is in the ECU and may be specific to this model. This observation is not an issue to me, but worth mentioning in a review. Also, this tool shows the MAP sensor readings directly in Kpa - and the TVS can be done using just the Healtech display, instead of hooking up manometers. This will get the bike within 10Mbar of sync which seems to be acceptable. Overall I'm very impressed with this tool, and thankful to have the ability to easily access the brains of a fairly complicated bike.

Excellent tool
It is a very well done tool. Works great (as far as I tested it), comes with a nice case. This is the only decent alternative to the Suzuki original OBD tool and costs significantly less (still expensive but I will blame a weak Canadian dollar :)). Must have for any DIY mechanic (and will pay for itself even on regular throttle syncs). Highly recommended!

Great product - effective immedately
Excellent product, very happy to have this in my arsenal of diagnostic tools! Worked immediately, right out of the box, and I was pleased to not be fighting with USB drivers as is often the case with such devices. I was able to get to the root of my problem right away - turned out to be power supply to my Suzuki ECU, insufficient with fuel pumps running - and produce some very nice output, even export plots, to document. I'm also very happy that this will work with any Suzuki ECU; I'll be able to help out friends too. Few tools work so well, so quickly - I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.

Works great on a PC
This device works great as long as you have a Windows machine. Some day it would be nice if these guys would write code that could be ported to Linux or the Mac. But I guess there are enough Windows emulators around. Other than that, it does it's job. Be nice to get a bluetooth device like you can for a car.
